Don't get this

This was a book that I thought was going to be informative about how to seriously loose weight via shagging. Ya know? complete with calories burned for different positions. Not the case. This is some small pocket book that quips off some smart information about positions but doesn't offer any insights into shagging for weight loss or how it can be productive to weight loss in relationship to our health as human beings. I wanted more. Who says you can't loose weight and do it while having fun and gaining intimacy and burning calories. With that sad, it was disappointing.

Back when I was in first grade, I got the VHS tape of Ferngully and became obsessed with it. Now I'm in my early twenties and am just now discovering that it's based off of a book!? Where'd that come from!? Wow! Why hadn't I read this sooner! So I bought it, read it, loved it. Especially when I read about Pips and Crysta! Squee! So, ahem, anyways, buy this book and relive the magic with scenes you missed out on!

Crysta who is a young fairy, determined to learn the old powers like Magi. Humans are also in the forest cutting down trees. Then weird things start to happen, like Crysta shrinking a human, Zack, down to fairy size. Then things get weirder when Crysta and Zack get lost and everything gets poisoned. Can the fairies stop the Leveler? Can they defeat Hexis once and for all? Read on and you will find out.

Anthony Walsh, Professor of Criminology at Boise State University, received his PhD from Bowling Green State University at the ripe old age of 43. He has field experience in law enforcement and corrections. He is the author of over 150 journal articles/book chapters and 34 books, including Biology and Criminology (Routledge, 2009), Feminist Criminology Through a Biosocial Lens (Carolina Academic Press, 2011), Law, Justice, and Society (with Craig Hemmens, Oxford University Press, 2011), Correctional Assessment, Casework, and Counseling (with Mary K. Stohr, American Correctional Association, 2011), The Neurobiology of Criminal Behavior: Gene-Brain-Culture Interaction (with Jon Bolen, Ashgate, 2012), Corrections: The Essentials (with Mary K. Stohr, SAGE, 2012), The Science Wars: The Politics of Gender and Race (Transaction, 2013), Criminological Theory: Assessing Philosophical Assumptions (Anderson/Elsevier, 2014), Biosociology: Bridging the Biology-Sociology Divide (Transaction, 2014), and Criminology: The Essentials (Sage, 2015). The basic question for the reader: can this material be used effectively in the real world of riding on the road and on track. Answer: definitely. Trevitt has produced a manual of high quality and daily usefulness, written in direct and accessible language.
As usual with David Bull books, this is a beautifully produced offering with photographs of exceptional clarity (mostly by the author, the various sport-bike manufacturers, Marc Cook, and Riles & Nelson) that along with the diagrams illustrate the text beautifully. Highly recommended.

"A bargain."

Trevitt's book neither insults the intelligence nor baffles us with arcane terminology or concepts. He starts with the basics and ends up explaining anti-squat via all points in between, all helped with copious color photos and a few diagrams. For the life of me I can't think of another book in English that covers the same sort of terrain, so I suspect that there's an audience for the information in this 128-page softback. It's published by David Bull Publishing for $24.95, which given the state of the dollar on the international exchange markets, makes it a bit of a bargain.

Andrew Trevitt is the senior editor of Sport Rider magazine and has raced both in his native Canada and in the United States. His rigorous testing, clear analysis, and easy-to-follow approach has made Trevitt's technical articles the most highly read in the publication. This is his first book.

This book is a quality product. It is well written with excellent pictures. However it lacks depth in its topic discussion. I too read it in one sitting. I found only a small amount of new information. I would have prefered more detail and pictures aimed at the inner workings of suspension.

About the Author
Graham Jones has more than 35 years experience in the broadcast industry. With NAB he works on advanced television issues, technical standards, education and training. He is a member of both ATSC and SMPTE engineering committees. Previously he was Engineering Director for the Harris/PBS DTV Express - the educational road show that introduced DTV to many U.S. broadcasters. He started his career with the BBC in London, and has worked as a consultant to broadcasters in many parts of the world. He holds a degree in physics, is a chartered electrical engineer, and is a member of the IEE, SMPTE, SBE and the Royal Television Society. In 2004 he received the Bernard J. Lechner Outstanding Contributor Award from the Advanced Television Systems Committee.

From one who teaches Broadcast Engineering...

I teach Radio/Television Broadcasting (along with being Director of Engineering, CMAT) at a State University. I read this book and many others trying to find the perfect book to use in the B'cast Engineering courses I teach here. This book is by far the best I've ever seen for the beginner to novice Engineer. I started my B'cast career in 1978 -- I wish this book would have been around then, or even during my first 5 years!!! It's written in simple terms making it easy to understand, yet completely covers the subject to the most technical aspects. If you're majoring in Communications and have an eye on the technical side, GET THIS BOOK!

More like a dictionary

I was expecting a little bit of how-to in this book but it definitely is not that. It basically is an expanded dictionary of terms used in the broadcast industry. It includes a few diagrams such as a flow chart of Master Control. Meant for total outsiders to the industry. Best suited for a broadcast school where a person has no idea what broadcasting is all about.

Great history lesson!

This book is valuable for any non-engineer wanting to get up to speed on understanding a lot of forms of electronic communications. It obviously covers broadcast, but also new video technologies and audio/radio. The author does a great job laying a historical foundation of the different medias and then brings it all current. I found it to be a valuable read. This book is so good, that after my wife sold my copy during a garage sale, I later went out and purchased another copy to have in my library.
