Just read it. Trust me. I'm a doctor.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor. In fact, I have zero experience as a health professional but you should still trust my judgement on this book. Just don't trust it on things like open heart surgery or gynecology.
On to the good stuff...
This book was like getting on the kiddie teacups ride only to have it morph into the Batman roller coaster half way through. I had no expectations of this book because I wasn't familiar with the authors. Honest truth: I chose it for the cover and Amazon's recommendation.
It may have started slow but by the end I was so enamored with the emotions, characters, and story that I binged out and finished the same night. I'm actually an obsessive editor when I read (it's terrible really) and I was so wrapped up that I didn't notice any mistakes! Or it could be that the editing was just that on point, but either way it's a win. Do yourself a favor and read this now.

Phenomenal YA for young and "old" adults

This book. Wow! I read hundreds of books a year, but very few really grab me and cause me to think of them, the characters, and the events of their lives for days after. The Bright Effect does that. The characters (both main and supporting) are well-developed and just plain real. The beauty of reading a book by Erica or Autumn is knowing that I won't be disappointed, and I wasn't disappointed in the least.
The connection between Bash and Amelia, as well as the interactions with their families and friends look and sound like ones you could see and hear from real teenagers. Though this is YA, and is completely and totally appropriate for that audience, the story is so poignant and breathtaking at times that adults need to read this as well.

A Well-Crafted Story of Love, Loss, and Hope

I read a review of The Bright Effect by a friend and was intrigued. Well, the book arrived in the evening on Friday and I finished reading at about 11:30 that same night. Yes, finished in one evening! The story of Amelia Bright and Sebastian "Bash" Holbrook is as heartwarming as it is heartbreaking -- and that's not a spoiler by the way -- with twists and turns that are never predictable. The writing duo has crafted rich and engaging primary and secondary characters who quickly become as real as any of the people in your life. The writing is well done and pulls you into the story of Amelia and Bash and keeps you turning the pages because you must know how their story unfolds. I strongly reccommend The Bright Effect to all fans of Young Adult literature and to all fans of excellent storytelling.
