Mum's the word

My teenage son used to beat me at Hive every time. I got fed up with his gloating so I secretly bought and read this book and now I beat him consistently. He has no idea how this has happened. Ha Ha! I just hope he does not find where I have hidden it.

Fantastic book for beginners and intermediate players - very readable - funny and witty

The thing that struck me most about this book was that it is a really enjoyable read. Unlike regular instructional books, the author has actually made a point of making it fun. Some of his witty anecdotes had me supressing giggles on the subway. Lots of info and strategies with good simple diagrams, all packed into a book that will fit in my Hive Pocket pouch (a tight squeeze but it goes in, just) so I can keep it handy. Great Value for money too. Includes strategies for the new pillbug expansion.

An excellent and affordable introduction

This is a great introduction to a great game - I highly recommend it for a beginner or an occasional player. It is quite a short book but there are a lot of strategies in there that I had not come across before.
